Product Description

Tempered glass is a heat toughened safety glass. It has undergone a special heat treatment to increase its strength and resistance to impact. In fact, tempered glass is approximately five times more resistant than normal glass. For example, a piece of 8mm tempered glass can withstand a steel ball weighing 500g dropped from a height of 2 meters.

Key Features:

  • 5 times harder than ordinary float glass with high resistance to thermal breakage.
  • Safety: If breakage occurs, glass disintegrates into small cubical fragments, harmless to the human body.
  • Withstands abrupt temperature changes of up to 220 Centigrade.
  • Customized sizes produced per request (cannot be cut after tempering).

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes tempered glass safer than regular glass?
Tempered glass is heat-treated to be 5 times stronger. If it breaks, it shatters into small, blunt cubical fragments instead of sharp shards, significantly reducing the risk of injury.
Can I cut the glass to a different size after it has been tempered?
No, tempered glass cannot be cut, drilled, or shaped after the toughening process. All measurements and hole placements must be finalized before the tempering begins.
What is the maximum size of tempered glass you can produce?
We can produce flat tempered glass up to a maximum size of 3660mm * 13m, using A-grade float glass as raw material.
What kind of edge processing do you offer?
We provide several edge types including arrissed edges, polished edges for furniture, and flat ground edges to meet different aesthetic and safety needs.
Does your glass meet international safety standards?
Yes, our products are certified according to international standards including CE (EN12150), AS/NZS2208, CCC, ISO, and SGCC.
How is the glass protected during international shipping?
We use safety wooden crates with paper or PE foam between each sheet. We also include desiccant inside plastic bags to prevent moisture damage during transport.
